Abuse can take many different forms, whether it's physical, emotional, sexual or if you're simply not being looked after properly. It's not always easy to know what it is or what to do about it.
If you are not being looked after properly then that is neglect.
You should be loved and cared for, given enough to eat and drink and have clean clothes and shoes to wear.
Your parents or carers should give you somewhere warm and comfortable to sleep and help you with your education or when you are ill.
If you, or someone you know is being abused or neglected, contact Derbyshire County Council's Starting Point on tel: 01629 533190.
