Our introductory e-learning packages are suitable for anyone who needs to understand about safeguarding.
The courses take about an hour to complete and are free. They're a useful starting point to help you understand key safeguarding issues and what to do if you have concerns about a child or young person. The courses are available to all Derbyshire County Council employees, including schools.
You can login using your workplace employee number as your username (replacing A for 0). If you have more than one role use your primary employee number.
Your initial password is "welcome". If you are not a Derbyshire County Council employee you can still register but will need to be set up with a username and password, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pop ups have to be enabled on your machine for the e-Learning to run.
Select the core skills and Knowledge tab and then search for the following courses:
- introduction to safeguarding
- child sexual exploitation - an introduction
- female genital mutilation
- honour based violence
- private fostering
- learning from serious case reviews
Please note that you will require Adobe Flash on your computer to take the courses.
On successful completion of the assessment you can obtain and print a certificate of achievement.
