Safeguarding adults

Vulnerable Adults Risk Management (VARM) is a multi agency framework for bringing together professionals, to develop a risk management plan for those people who would not necessarily fall into the responsibility of adult social care direct service provision.

The VARM framework is supported by district council partners and has been well accepted and supported by all agencies.

The VARM policy provides professionals with a framework to facilitate effective multi-agency working with vulnerable adults who are deemed to have mental capacity and who are at risk of serious harm or death through self-neglect, risk taking behaviour or refusal of services. The policy is available to download from the related documents section.

The Safer Derbyshire website provides information, guidance and posters for all agencies working to safeguard adults in Derbyshire.
