Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Boards have worked together to produce joint policies and procedures in line with current legislation and statutory guidance.

Key local safeguarding guidance documents

We've worked with Derby Safeguarding Children Board to produce key local safeguarding documentation, including, protocols assessments tools, leaflets and more to help support both agencies and practitioners to safeguard and protect children. These can be found in our documents library.

Key safeguarding documents include:

  • Derby City and Derbyshire thresholds document to support identification of children's needs and the appropriate level of intervention.

  • Derby City and Derbyshire escalation policy and process - sets out clear routes to escalate concerns when there is a difference of professional opinion about the seriousness of a situation or the proposed action.

  • Information sharing agreement for practitioners - gives clear guidance on how to share information if there are concerns about a child.

  • Derbyshire children's services and partner agencies assessment protocol sets out arrangements for how cases will be managed once a child is referred to Derbyshire County Council Children's Services.

  • Derbyshire child sexual exploitation (CSE) toolkit and guidance.

  • Joint child sexual exploitation strategy.
